baitcasting reels for winter use?

I am having a new rod built for fishing heavy fish thru the ice, Has anyone used baitcasting reels in the winter or have any good ideas which one is good? Of course casting is not much of a issue but it has to have a good drag.

I use a baitcaster during the winter. I only use mono line and so far haven't had any problems with it. Any ice build up on the line guide of the reel is easily removed by hand and it really isn't a problem. I like to use this setup on my artic warrior tipup.
