Auger ?

randallt

Question

I have a 3HP Jiffy Stealth auger. It runs ok but just doesn't seem to really "top out" I have tried messing with carb screws etc. I can't find the manual so I have two questions. Does Stealth have a web site I can order one from? Are there any tips to help set the carb for better performance?

I have an older jiffy the was starting to run a little off from normal. I had decided to try the amsoil sabre, and that cleared up everything. hasn't run this well since I've owned it!! not saying that it'll work for yours, but might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the info. That might just be the case as this year I am using cheap mixed gas from my weed wacker. It does have stabil in it but probably not a high quality oil..

I did find the web site jiffyonice.com and tecumsehpower.com

I would still appreciate any suggestions.

I never keep gas in my auger longer than a month. If I have some left over in my gas can I dump it in my sled. I have had my auger act up a couple times, and getting that old gas out solved everything. For the price of a little oil and gas, it's not worth not having your auger running right.

Thanks for the offer Big DS I really appreciate it. I did look at that and it appears to be opening it all the way up. The auger is only two years old and probably hasn't drilled 100 holes.

I did monkey around with the carb screws and it seems to be running better. I can open it all the way up for 15 to 20 seconds and then it would just die. After restarting and running for several minutes it stopped doing it, so I think it just needs to be run more. Wife has been sick and I have only gotten out a couple of times.

I never leave gas in it after the season and I always start with a fresh mixture at start of season. I think I will clean plug at end of the year and get some amsoil.

Any idea were I can buy it around the metro? Do gander's or cabela's carry it? Any small bait stores?
