LX-5 and FL-18 fishing side by side

WalleyeWarrior

Question

I just purchased the LX-5 and have not had a chance to use it yet. My buddy has the FL-18. We are trying to plan a trip for Sunday, but he is leary about my unit messing with his while we are in the same house. First, is mine going to mess with his? If so, is there any way that I can eliminate it? I mentioned to him that he just shouldn't use his. Needless to say, per forum policy I can't repeat what he said. Thanks for any info.

They will work better than two Vexilars in the same house will. You will both be able to work you IR till you are happy. I fish with a buddy that has a FL 8 and I have a LX 5 and we don't have any problems. So unless the 18 makes a difference you should be good to roll. We just got back from a trip with a FL 8, LX3, and LX5 and it took some work but it wasn't bad and we all fished with relatively clean screens.

Just had this exact problem the best way will be turning off one of the units NR and then cycling through the IR on the other unit.

A lot of it depends on which transducer and the bottom content if it's a hard bottom you will definatly have interference.

Let us know how it goes for you....
