Fished A lake in Ottertail county yesterday. What was 5.5 inches Thursday is now 3.5 inches. High winds and 41 degrees temps do terrible things to ice. -(

Only 3 1/2 inches on the main lake area on Vermilion and had water on top of that yesterday afternoon. 5 1/2 inches on the shallow bays. Ice heaves also starting to form already. I had one form between me and shore yesterday,SCARRY crossing it on the way in.

For the Twin Cities.... better bring the boat, no ice that I've seen, at least nothing more than a skim here and there, and that's probably gone after today. What can you do but wait, or go to the ice?

Most small lakes, 4-6ins with 3in spots. bigger lakes arent even froze over now with the heat and wind. Oh yah ,located in the detroit lakes area.

Fished a lake near Park Rapids yesterday.
6" of good clear ice when we started, by the time we left, it had started to honeycomb. If we do not get some cold, these lakes are going to begin to open up again.
