No sir. Full Frame Resolution on the D2X is 12.4 mpxls. HSC mode is an in-camera function that reduces the full frame shot to 6.8 mpxls. It basically crops the image in camera, HSC=high speed crop. This mode also takes the camera's 5 frames per second, to 8 frames per second. I shoot quite often in this mode when shooting birds, as I get twice as many photos per card, and the effective crop basically gives me additional focal length. There are hash marks inside the viewfinder of the X that allow the shooter to compose the shot when in HSC mode. It is really an awesome function. It comes in very handy when length and speed outweigh the need for mega resolution.
