Mexico fishing this winter

My wife and I just got back from Playa, it was awesome. We've been down there numerous times. Playa is about a 45 minute cab ride to Cancun. It is pretty easy. All of the best fishing boats run out of Isla or Puerto Aventuras. I'd go with Swampbuck's recommendation, he knows his stuff. You can take some smaller boats right out of Playa along the beach, but the fishing isn't as good as the bigger boats that run out of the marinas. They usually catch a few Barracudas and such from the smaller boats. But it did not seem all that impressive.
