poutpro
How many geese did ppl shoot this weekend? Our group of 5 shot 25 on the ice. There must have been around 200 geese killed in the square mile around us. A lot of the groups I talked to shot their limit with groups of 5-7. Eric Wettschreck
Anyone wanting to shoot a gob of geese should come to my town and shoot them right offa the lake. Actually, please come shoot them. They're keeping the lake open.I walked out to them the other day and they really didn't care. Many of them stayed and didn't fly away. There are some cripples in there that need to get shot, also. I'll be taking shots at them maybe next weekend and there are plenty out there to go around. Gissert
I was fishing out on Ottertail Saturday afternoon, and there was a group of 200-300 just sitting on the ice about two miles out on the west end, about dead center in the lake. Looked like they were just loafing out there, not making any noise at all. They started to get up shortly before 5. Heard lots of shooting to the west starting about 4pm. Sounded like some groups were getting some great shooting.
Jimmy from Cottage Grove
I hunt right here in the cities. Two of us shot 10 birds. We got three saturday morning. And we shot eight last night!! It was incredible!! We couldn't even reload fast enough and another group would be coming in!! We must have seen two thousand birds!! Too bad it's my little brothers first year goose hunting!! He can't hit anything!!! If he could shoot we would have limited out in 10 minutes. MIKE IN lINO III
Anybody know of a place I can go in the north east metro? I just started goose hunting and made jerky from my first ones, now I can't get enouph of it...Mmmm Tasty. I have a hay field and a picked corn field behind the house but I haven't seen the geese like I did last year. They would fly over the house but not this year for some reason.Mike
IceHawk
Our group has been knocking them down quite reguarly lately. I am really amazed at the numbers of geese locally this year it's astonishing!Found a corn field with a couple hundred in the last few nights, looks like a good place to setup. We have our game plan set, we plan on setting the motherload of decoys and hopefullly putting the smack on these birds. With the weather like this I am hopeing the birds stay around.
