Aqua Vu Scout

CrappieAttitude

Question

My brother let me use his Aqua Vu this past weekend and while out on Saturday afternoon something happened. I was sitting in my portable watching little perch and small walleyes swimming around. The screen was clear as day as I was fishing a very clear lake. However all of a sudden the screen got very "pixally". I know that isn't a word, but it is the only way I can explain what I was seeing. Anyways, I could barely pick out my jig and it ended up getting turned off. The connections to the battery and the plugs in the back of the monitor were in tight. Any suggestions as to what my issues were? confused.gif It was really cool while it was working, and it didn't topple over or anything. I am just a little confused since I have never used a camera before. I don't think it is operator error, but who knows.

Cathode Ray Tubes are not affected by low temps like LCD. In spite of it the temps were not low enough on Saturday. Fill up a 5 gallon pail of water and try to duplicate the problem at home. You might have a micro crack in the kevlar near the camera and cable and water is getting in. I would try it for a couple of hours out of water then do it again in the pail of water and see if it craps out.

CA,

Or just give the girls in Customer Service a call. They can straighten you out on the issue. But battery would have been my first thought. Good idea checking it out.

I brought it inside and hooked it to the charger. Once it was fully charged it worked. That doesn't explain why it didn't work with my Vex battery though. Well it's working now, and thats all that matters. We did have it on for quite a while before it quit working. In hours, What is the normal "running time" of the camera before the battery cruds out considering the battery is fully charged to begin with?
