Fisherman For a Lifetime
Howdy, I have the older 2-cycle StrikeMaster Laser Mag Auger. Runs great. It says to run 5 Oz. oil to 1 Gal. Gas (25:1). Using the Amsoil Saber Professional, should I mix that to 25:1 or can I lean it out to something like 50:1...??? Looking for knowledgable answers, thanks! 0 mnvikingsfreak
I believe with amsoil you mix it 100:1 no matter what application thats what I did and it works great there are a few other posts on here about amsoil and how people mix it
0 Fisherman For a Lifetime
That's where I Need the clarification - "my" older Auger says 25:1, not like the newer ones. Anyone know for sure on mine ...?
0 mnvikingsfreak
my auger is 25:1 also its an eskimo and I talked to the amsoil guys at the ice show and they said no matter what run 100:1 I was in the same boat as you with questions but thats what the reps for amsoil said hope this helps
0 Fisherman For a Lifetime
Wow - no matter what run it at 100:1 ?? Ok, "unless I hear different" , I'll throw the 25:1 mix in it back in the gas can & mix it leaner. Maybe 50-75:1, not sure/have no reason to go to the 100:1 on my old trusty... Anyone else, the same thing...??
0 TTfromBlaine
My srikemaster said 25/1 which I did for a couple of tanks but switched to the amsoil and have run the 100/1 with no issues and it actually runs better. the gas can I have now is a pain in the a*^*++ to fill (1 gal) so I just leave a little space for expansion, I think that has me running about 85-90/1 and am totally happy with the performance. If you have any questions Dan Dawson the oil man here on this site can help . I dont think you will ever regret switching remember those mix ratios are only for the oils that say they can be mixed as such. Dont try it with strikemaster oil or what ever ICEDOG-
0 18 inch Crappie
100:1 mix = 1.3 oz oil to a gallon of gas. Sabor oil is the only 100:1 mix I think.
0 Fisherman For a Lifetime
Yes - I run Amsoil in "Everything" else. First time in the Auger... I ran it 5 minutes at 25:1 and it ran awesome like that.I guess I'll pour it back in the tank, lean it out & run 'er again before I go out today...Hummm... 0 cold one sd
If you don't feel confident running 100:1, mix it at 75:1. I run Saber at 100:1 in all my 2 strokes.
0 scalescratcher
I have a Strikemaster that is over 20 yrs old. I switched to Amsoil Saber last year and ran it all season mixed at 100:1 the unit ran great and smoked far less than previously. Fired right up this year.
