Pontoon Outboard Question

One of our pontoons is 10 years old. It's a Northwoods (Link, I know!) Anyway we renovated most of it last spring but the old Evenrude 25hp 2-stroke has about had it. I'm thinking of trying to pick up a used 25 - 40hp for it. Do I have to look for a special outboard or is the rigging for steering, throttle, electric start, fairly standard?

Be sure to get a long shaft.

One possible hickup here could be if you get a motor with trim and tilt... that could require a different control box, or I suppose you could put a seperate switch on the dash somewhere...

I'm afraid if we got trim and tilt the people who rent it won't be able to drag the prop over the rocks so easily.
