I saw the Clam ice fishing chair in the "new gear" section of a magazine and thought it looked pretty nice. Has anybody tried one yet? I saw them at the ice fishing show but they were boxed up and I was just passing by.

I still use the old pad on the 6gallon bucket for fishing and it would sur ebe nice to have something thats actually supposed to be a chair. I thought it may make double duty as a hunting pack when I use my ground blind.

Anybody seen this?

I use one of the square type hunting seats for open air fishing. It came with a styrofoam insert and that will keep things from freezing inside of it. Has a carry strap that I throw over one shoulder and it rides much like a back pack or I just set it into the bottom of the tub that I pull out. If you have minnows in it though you would want to have them in some type of waterproof container. Works well for me... can stuff it full of thermos', lunch and or beer. They sell most places for less than 30 bucks as I recall but I have had them for a while now. Have a good one and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Personally I wouldn't have any use for one, but for the person that does that type of fishing it looks like it would be very handy. I do agree that I felt a little propped up in the chair. It wasn't all that comfortable.

I think the idea is great. One thing I was thinking about is how easily does it fold into the backpack whan you have all of the pockes and pouches filled up? Do you need to empty certain pockets in order for it to fold up? If so, that kinda defeats the purpose wouldn't ya think?

I bought one from a friend of mine and keep the pockets full when folding up. There is even a spot for your fishing rods. Worked pretty nice having everything I need right with me and actually organized for once. Could be more comfortable but it works and when I'm ready to go just put it on my back and take off.
