bigdog
Okay, mine is a Lazer mag. Handles measure 19.25" across the motor and are 10.25" wide. Motor sticks up above the top of the hand grips by about 4". The blue bag has about 2" more length (22" wide handles would fit) and plenty of room for a taller motor. BIG_EYE
Harvey, You and Eyeguy are talking about dif. covers. I have one like Eyeguy is talking about. I got mine on clearance last spring and have not used it yet. But the other day when it was -2 outside I pulled it out to put it on my auger, it was so stiff I thought it was going to shater into pices. It is a full cover not just a head cover like you guys are talking about. It is made of vinyl and made by Ready Rig. Looked liked a nice cover but... nluchau
I had a problem with my Ready Rig Blue cover for my strikemaster. The zipper came undone during transport in the back of my truck. You know how it pulls apart when zipped. I was able to get it working again but hopefully this doesn't keep happening.
Wild Willie
I just took my auger with the new ReadyRig cover out and laid it on the driveway. I got my leaf blower out and plugged it in and aimed it at the zipper opening to see if 200 mph winds would make the thing open up. Guess what the zipper didn't budge. I had the blower on high speed and aimed directly into the bottom, the top, the right side and the left side. Nothing, nada, zip. I then unzipped the case just a bit and went through the same exercise. Nothing, nada, zip. The zipper stayed in place...didn't budge a inch. I then tucked the zipper pull underneath the velcro securing tab at the bottom of the case and went through the exercise again for kicks and grins. Again the zipper did not move. I think securing the zipper pull under/behind the velcro securing strap is the way to go for more added security. Especially if you are driving to the lake faster than 200 mph. My suggestion is to return the cover if the zipper is faulty. Zippers do go bad sometimes. Hope my little experiment and the result helps. Would be cool if someone else would try the same thing to see if they get the same result I got. Oh, I forgot to mention that my auger has been in my case for about two weeks now. What's interesting is that I can't smell any gas fumes until I zip the thing open...thats kind of cool.
nluchau
Thanks WW. I will have to give it time and see if it keeps happening. I appreciate the information
markzeke
I got my ready rig head cover yesterday and when I was putting it on, the zipper kept opening up. I tried fixing it but ended up sending it back..
harvey lee
Wild Willie I agree with your tests. I did the same thing today with my blower. My results were if I left the zipper on the outside of the velcro it would open. When I put the zipper under the velco closure and then attached the velcro I had no problem and could give it all the wind my blower would through. Looks like to me that the zipper must be under the velcro to stay closed for sure.
