New portable

I'd like to thank eveyone here for the input I recieved with all my shack questions. I just took delivery of my otter lodge today, and from what I see I'm not going to be disapointed. I was able to check out the X2 locally but there are no Otter dealers around so I was leaning towards what I could see in person (the X2). However I found a shop that was willing to split the shipping so useing everyones opinion here I ordered the Otter. I am impressed. The sled is huge and in my opinion the canvas has it all over the clam.

Yeah it was more money, but From my perspective well worth it.

I got the purple one figuring it would absorb heat from the sun better than the green. It is a bit "different" looking but at least my buddies will find me no problem, lol.

Not to steal the post but speaking of Otters, does anyone put some spray on the canvas? I was told to do this once a year, but not sure what to use.

I have had my Otter Lodge for a year now and I just love that house! I ice fish everyday and I wouldn' be without it!!! Best portable house on the market.

Sandmannd - I've never sprayed anything on the canvas. Not sure what that would help. Maybe the thinking is that it would seal up the canvas and help hold the heat in better?? You shouldn't have to worry about rain during the winter, but stranger things happen. It stays plenty warm so I wouldn't worry about it.

I just bought a otter med. cabin and was wondering what seats they use . One of the three otter styles or some other type of chairs?

I have the molded bench with boat seat that spans the sled with the cupholder between your legs. Seems to do the job well.

I couldnt have said it better myself.

Did you by the hyfax runners? I put mine on last year and I really like them. If I didnt have them on last year I would have had some damage to the bottom of the tub.

Congrats, I had mine setup in the front yard "preparing" the other day. Buy the hyfax, you won';t regrt it, it definetly saves the wear on the tub. I have it on both my otters.
