Where to find Remington "Accelerator" load

Recommended Posts

Looking for the Remington "Accelerator" 55 grain load for .30-06. Anybody know where I can find them?

A check of Remingtons HSOforum shows that they still make them for the .30-06 in a 55 grain load. I just haven't had luck finding them in a store.

Thanks,

ccarlson

I have some in 30-30 and 30.06. I looked around the net and couldnt find them anywhere for sale. I would check with the bigger gun shops.

I dont know how true this is but was told a few years back they quit making them. I am sure there are some around I would just question the price.

Maybe a call to Remington and hope they can tell you more info as if they are still made and what dealers sell them.

My dad bought a few boxes of these and I shot a fox with one. I am not kidding you when I say I blew the fox in half. It was literally hanging by a string of skin. That load certainly zips um.

I also heard that they quit making them. The reason was when the bullet went through the barrel it didnt leave scratches on the bullet. Without the scrathes u cant trace what gun the bullet was shot out of. saftey reasons incase someone got shot. thats what i heard but i have some that my dad bought awhile back. there nice but u can get loads just about as good now and if u hit them in the right spot they will die.

Yeah, I had heard that too. However, one would think if that were true, either all sabots would be illegal, or at least Remington wouldn't make any if they were really concerned about no rifling on the bullet.

EDIT: Just looked at Remington's ammo HSOforum and the 55gr Accelerator is still listed...
