If I get Bullhead fever I know just where to go, Lake Ashtibula ND near Vally city ND. It has a mess of them yellow belly Piggy's. If anyone was in the mood to get into lots of Bullheads thats the place to hit for sure.

When I was a pup, we used to head there on a mini vacation from the farm with all my sisters in tow. We would fill the trunk with Bullheads and clean heads tell dawn. We had a big clan so they all got ate up pretty darn quickly. Perch and crappie are good there too, and good SM Bass on the Sheyenne River below the Dam. Not a bad spot, dang pretty too.

Been a while since I fished bullheads, intentionally anyway. But if I go after flattys I suspect that will be a plan, Bullhead hunting.

I hear Dark30 is a cham-peen Creek Chub hunter too Eh?

Yo guys check this out!

Wait tell you see my new bait freezer in my garage. It is a real Jim-Dandy Eh.

A heavy Duty stainless Steel commercial ice cream freezer, complete with 2 removable tap fountains on the top. If I still drank beer man would I be set..UF-DA...LOL!

I can store a lot of bait, a deer or two, a hog, my X wife wink.gif, and still have room to spare. It has a 6' long 8" wide by 1' deep chiller tank on top that I plan to convert into a live well/minnow tank. It is a real Bute Eh.

It took big bud and I a lot of grunts to get it loaded and off loaded again yesterday, that bugger is HEAVY!

Hi, I think I'll fish down there in that big hole in between the bridge and the dam in Hastings tommorow morning in that park. Do you ever fish there? How have you done so far from that part of the river?

mnfisherman,

I used to live in CottageGrove and fish down there often. I've had good luck with walleyes and saugers at Prescott. Are you fishing at the park from shore or boat? Do you plan on going out later this week?

Wiskers,

when I went down to get some bullies the lake was covered with cotton wood seeds and was just a pain with the line. I couldn't stand to monkey around with it for more than 15 min so I just went and picked up a dozen suckers. Had quite a few runs but nothing real serious. Another guy I was fishing with had one on but got snagged up and ended up loosing him.

Montana was great, I actually shot enough to just not want to shoot anymore. took one Prairie dog at 619 yards, first attempt, had to get the range finder out and measure how far away it was. Give me a call, I'll be staying home this weekend, have Catfishing league Friday night though.

Mr. Special,
I plan on fishing from shore with sucker minnows. I do live in Cottage Grove so if you know any other good places for flatheads in the area would you please share them? I heard they live in lake Pig's Eye, have you ever fish there for them?

If memory serves me correctly, there are flooded stump fields south of pigs eye. And lots of people have fished those for flatheads. I am not really sure where the stump fields are, but I would bet that if you find them you will probably find flats too.

I used to fish for flat main above dam#3, just pass the casino. If you go pass the casino and go all the way to the dam you can park in the lot. There even a bathroom there. You can walk up along shore and fish anywhere. My favorite spot there is where the river meets the back water lagoon, kind of a long walk about 1000yds of so. There will be a boat landing where boat can tie up but no launch.

Good luck
