Fishhead, do you fish catfish in the middle of the day? I didn't think so. Don't use that hungover, I need to sleep in excuse here. Alright, make it 1:35 pm on Sunday. I need to go catch my bait for cattin' that evening.

Heres the deal....Last year we formed the Belle Plaine Catfishing League. It cost $90 to enter for the season. The season runs from June to August (exact dates this year to be determined) We pair up roughly every other friday night with a new partner by drawing names.

All fish are released after measuring and photos. Nightly payouts for largest Channel and Largest Flathead. Your total inches go towards the season end payout. This year we may include a payout for largest fish of the season also.

This will be the second year for the league and things may get tweeked a little as we grow. All in all its great fun and a good opportunity to learn new spots and make new friends.

Hey Uncle Grump
If you are interested you should attend the meeting.
Members should try to fish all of the events but there are provisions for make up times or you can fill in as an alternate for some one who will miss a date or two.It is a really good time and the way it is set up you get to fish with alot of different cat addicts. smile.gif

Dates are looking to start in June, Fridays are a choice or maybe Friday/Saturday every other weekend. I would strongly suggest that if a person does this, that, that person can commit to the 6 nights. SORRY..Hopefully we can limit how much make-up nights we have this year, other than weather. Subs might be an option, though, like MEEE. For more info please join us at the meeting as mentioned before.

Friday night should be the night of league. If someone can't make it friday night, you would need to make it up with in two days....The previous Wed/Thurs night or Sun/Mon night. You'll just need to work things out with your partner.

Go south on 169 to Belle Plaine. Go through the lights and look to your right. Its called the Borough Bowl. The liquor store and 169 Sports are in the same building.

Its the first right past the lights and its right there on the right. right. food-smiley-004.gif

Was unable to attend the meeting on Sunday - Sorry.

I would still like to participate - but would most likely need to be a sub - I doubt I could make it every night on the schedule.

Who can I contact for more info.

Thanks

UG

Last call for signing up for the League, early reports from the river is its going to be a good year, already nice cats being caught in the area. This league is for the guy who wants to have fun with a bit of competition. Nightly prizes awarded along with end of the season prizes,, (CASH).
For more info call Jason (612)-702-7160 or contact DARK30 or Dennis (Fishhead) for any questions!! For the amateur or "the pro"-very good league to meet new fishing buddies and learn different techneiqes.

This league is a great time!
Its an individual contest.Your fish are verified with the league member you are fishing with that night. The fish is measured and a photo is taken by your league partner.Every league night you fish with a new league member. With this format you can release your fish immediatly and you get to fish with new guys all the time. There are some very good catmen both as drivers and riders and its a fast way to learn the river and how to catch a few kitties.
I am fishing it cause its just plain fun!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
