Remington 7400 won't extract spent shell

I need some help, my Remington 7400 won't discharge the shell after shooting. The incoming shell ends up getting jammed into the spent cartridge and has turned my semi auto into a single shot. I've tried cleaning it, but I can't take the bolt out. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Had the exact same thing with mine years ago. A 5 minute fix at the gunsmith. Like lawdog said, a broken ejector.

I have the same gun and had the same problem last year. I had the ejecter and all those parts replaced at the gunsmith...but still have the same problem..which I found out at the range. I lost faith in that gun and have since moved to a bolt action rifle. I would still suggest taking it to the gunsmith and having the work done. I have heard from others that its perfectly fine after getting some parts replaced. For me, after having it jam on me after getting work done...it gets no more chances. Good luck...hopefully a part replacement is all it takes for you.

1 more thing to check on that rifle, do you have 4 shells in the magazine or 5? 5 will fit but will jam,as theres no room for the fired shell to eject. how do i know? dummy me i tried it..4 in magazine and 1 in chamber works fine
