RattleReels

So I've been hearing about these Rattle Reels. I personally have never used or seen them. I checked them out on fishhousesupply.com and they seem interesting. Can anyone give me some idea on how they work, effectivness, and if they are worth spending for my newly built house. Appreciated Much.

Gatorbait,

You just mount them on the wall, tie on some vinyl coated ice line, tie on a double barrel swivel, then tie on a 6-7' mono leader. I'm sorry, you also need to put a bobber thru it as well.

Now tie on your hook and a split shot 15" above your hook and lower it to the water. When a fish hits it will pull your bobber down and the reel will rattle informing you of the bite.

Then give the fish a few feet of line, set the hook, and pull in the fish by hand.

This type of fishing is great for overnite use while sleeping.

Would these work in a portable at all? If you wanted to use it in an extra hole? Just curious, I started getting into ice fishing last year and trying to learn as much as I can.

Sandman, From looking at most designs that I've found, it doesn't look any would be capable of it, but that doesn't say you can't rig it up to make it happen or there isn't something out there that I haven't ran across yet.
