I put out a bag in a abad spot, I think.. I couldn't find a spot I liked in a transition zone so i put it near a trail by some nice rubs and made a mock scrape. I that a terrible thing to do or do you think it will help?

Put it out on Sunday and I hope to hunt today or Thursday night.

Thanks for the input.

i had this problem when i first bought one months ago. you need to find a spot where the bucks travel and will visit every day or just about every day. i made mock scrapes and it really workd out well, i dont know how many different bucks came to my dripper with in the week. now i just bought another dripper and put one on a scrape that was made by one of the bucks in my area. i just put that one out a week and half ago and i had alot more action at that one. this buck dug a nice size hole in the ground right about the dripper. but you dont want to hunt around that dripper, you want to hunt about 60-70 yards away from the dripper but right on the trail the bucks are coming from. good luck with that!

Best thing to do with a mock scrape/dripper is to look at the natural scrapes in the area - typically the scrapes have an overhanging branch(actually always) and are on a fairly flat spot without a lot of rocks/roots. Let us know how it goes. Right NOW is the time to hunt those scrapes. early and late in the day.
