Gadgetman
So has anybody tried the new Hevisteel. It is billed as Hevishots little brother and isnt quite as expensive as the Hevishot is. I think that it runs about $20 per box of 25.
tealitup
Used it last year during Duck season and HATED IT. I had better luck with regular steel and of course Hevi Shot or Kent Matrix.
carpshooterdeluxe
3" #6's didnt pattern worth a dump in my super x2 which uses the invector + choke system. ended up shooting pigeons to burn up the box.
Gadgetman
Carp, was the bad pattern caused by shooting too tight of a choke? I think you have to open up to at least mod, or possibly improved. I havent had a chance to try any yet but wilol definitly pattern before going hunting with it
ec30_06
I used 3 1/2" hevi-steel 4's on ducks this year and it killed a lot more ducks per shot than the faststeel 2's that I usually use. My best 40 yd pattern was with the factory mod. rem choke. The hevi-steel has been recently redesinged. If u had the red hull shells they are the old design.
