Aluminum boat dent repair

Willy

Question

Managed a decent size dent in my boat this weekend. I really have no idea how it happened, but I think it's from hitting the rollers too hard when loading the boat in the gale force winds.

Either way, is there any way I can repair it myself or any recommendations people would have of where to take it or now much it would cost? I would think I could just pound it out, but really don't want to wreck something worse than it already is or make it leak.

It is below the water line and would not need to be painted.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

I meant where on the hull....

Anyway you can follow the suggestion above, use something to counter your blows while you hit the inside of the hull.

Bakken shop would be my suggestion too, not too far from you.

Reminds me of my favorite movie quote:

Rumack: This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.

Elaine Dickinson: A hospital? What is it?

Rumack: It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.
