I heard that the fish was weighed on a certified scale to determine if it was a new State Record fish then released. Just a couple pounds shy. If the fish is caught later this fall could it beat the MN record?

Good job and congrats!!! Truely a fish of a lifetime.

Yes, it was weighed, but not on a certified scale. The scale bounced between 52 and 54, but they were concerned for the fish so they didnt work too hard to get a real accurate weight. Who knows...

Could she be the state record later this fall? I think she already is, but if not she is close enough that later this fall there is no doubt she will have the mass to top the record.

when my roomate and i went out on the pond 2 weeks we talked with steve about how the state record was going to be caught this fall and that the chances were good that it could come off Mille lacs. we asked him what it would take for him to kill a muskie. and i am glad to say that he is true to his word. and mille lacs is better for it. also, wow that is a huge fish.
