Curtains for the fishouse

I need to put curtains in my house, I was considering Velcro. No metal rods, easy on and off. It would more of a cover than a curtain but that is the purpose of a curtain. To cover a window. I designed my shack to be as simple as possible. I think it is much easier that way.

Harry,

I thought of the velcro but figure some sort of stretchy cord just screwed to the wall would be easier. I figured I'd lose one in short order if I had them where they detached. I was just hoping someone figured out the problems first on this and could help me out.

i do believe that you can buy ther spring type of curtain slides that you are looking for. they are a length of thin round spring that has a loop on either end to secure them i have a set from an old camper. and i think that you should be able to find them in the curtain section of some of the bigger stores yet. have not had the need for them so i have not looked. what i did for my curtains in my shack was drill a small hole in the curtain rod. and ised a small 1/2 inch peice of dowel drilled out. and ran a screw thru the rod and then the dowel to the frame around the window. they aint comming down. ... paul

For my curtains I attached velcro to the wall and then sewed the other soft velcro part to dark colored hand towels that covered the windows. I have something to wipe my hands on and they are easy to remove to be washed. The towels are kinda faded on one side now because they have been in the windows for 14yrs now. This has worked great for me. When I build a new house I will do this again.
