I never got around to installing the LEDs in my yukon last season, but I would like to get it done this year. After all the talk about how the clam LED rope lights weren't bright enough and the Gander Mountain lights being mostly junk I put the project off. What lights did you end up using and how did you install them? Did you run the wires through the tubes?

I was also thinking of installing a couple of 12V plugins on a base somewhere near the seat on the sled to plug in a cell phone, GPS, fan, etc.

I have been using the 1st ice lights ( got them on sale at gander last winter) since last winter in my bedroom for staying up on the computer and they work great and very good on battery life. Truthfully for the price I cant believe how good they are.

There are many LED lighting options for your portable.

Strip and standalone LED lighting is what I use, most people are not impressed with Rope LED lighting I know I wasn't.

Here are couple threads to get you going....

I use two 13 led lights in my Otter lodge and have then tied into an old extension cord with clips on the end. The light attaches to supports with adhesive Velco. I then slip the extention cord between the supports and the canvas and hook up to a small battery in the back of the tub. Has worked very well for me so far. I use the same system in my wife fishtrap pro using a single 13 led light. It's easy, quick and out of the way when I pack up.

Hello

I do have two of the rope light not to bright I went to a web site called super brite leds and bought four of the tube light they come with snap in bracket that you can mount to the poles but if you run the wires in the pole you can't get the poles to calapes so might just have to tape to the poles I use a small cigar box to put the small battery in vexlar and it works good stay away from the rope light not bright enough I think these new ones are a lot brighter
