Garcia recrods, wow!

I had a chance to try out my new Abu Garcia record this past weekend and have to say I am very impressed. The reel is very smooth and retrieved my hardest thumping baits with little effort.

I picked one up this year and I love it. It's awesome for bucktails. Pulls alot of line and I like the one large handle design. This reel can handle the largest fish.

Yeah, the Records are pretty sweet. They're very very similar to the old 6500 Big Game. I loved the Big Games, and I pitched a pretty good fit with the Garcia people when they quit making it The Record's every bit as nice with a better drag besides.

I love the big single-paddle handles. Even on my regular 6500s I replace the stock handles with the single paddles. They cost about 15 bucks, and Fleet Farm usually carries them.

Picked a 50 up yesterday, sacrificed the line capacity for comfort. Threw bucktails for about 6 hours and really liked how the real performed.

Thanks for the tip on replacing the handles, I picked up a couple to replace the handles on all my 6500 c4's. Now if I could find some time to get out and give them a try.....

All of my Abu's now have the power handle on them. Best $15 I spent.

I bought one of these right away this Spring and have never regretted it! I almost feel bad because my 6 other St. Croix rods with the regular Ambassador's on them aren't seeing much action on the front lines anymore! Truly a splendid reel with musky fishermen in mind!
