*** Boat Advice Needed***

PikeBayCommanche

Question

Now that open water is on the last push for the year. I have to start thinking about what kind of boat I want to trade up to this winter.

I have a Ranger Bass boat right now and when I got it I didn't have a place on Pike Bay. Its fine on some days but anyone who fishes the Cass Lake area knows that there is sometimes a little North wind shocked.gif.

I am thinking of getting a Ranger 620 DVS or a Triton multi-spiecies boat.

Wondering what experiences people on here have had with such boats.

Both are very nice boats. I like the layout and little extras the Triton offers. Find someone with them and take a ride. Base your decision on what YOU like and need and what you can afford. What many people like in a boat you may not.

I've been in 2006 Ranger 620 and a 621 over the summer and fall. I'm planning on owning one in the next few weeks. The ride is outstanding, fishes great for walleyes and bass and it fished and rode very well in a very solid walleye chop. They both had 225HO E-Tec's. Great boats.

O.K. PBC... enough is enough! We gotta meet up when you are at Cass next time.

1st off, there will probably be a fish or two to catch yet.

2nd off, we can probably find time for an adult beverage.

3rd off, I'll take you for a ride in my Triton to see if it fits your bill. There are many days on Cass where I'm the only one on my block who will go out and fish... Going from Aluminum to glass (especially w/ Tritons hull) has made my decision to fish or not much easier! I have the 205 multi species w/225... As you know owning your Ranger, you can never go wrong with one of those either... Comes down to which is the better deal when you are out shopping. I decided I would buy the 1st 'great' deal I came across between a 620 and a Triton 189 or 205.

Good Luck!

pike. either way i think you'll be happy.( course i'm a ranger guy!! grin.gif) i sold my ranger bass boat( 1988, 18' 364) a few years ago, and bought a 680 C( 1990 17' fisherman series!) and can't be happier!soo much nicer in rougher water, even though mine is only a 17 ' and narrower than the new ones.
