protiller
I will be making my first, of hopefully many, trip out west this fall. I want to make certain I have all my i's dotted and t's crossed. I'll be hunting the 2nd rifle season in the sw part of the state. Other than the obvious items...gun, compass, maps, knives, game bags. What does your gear list look like. Thanks in advance to all that post.-tiller
Gissert
All the stuff you mentioned, plus my hydration pack. I love that thing, and it keeps dehydration at bay. Sunscreen - you'll probably need it, along with some skin lotion. You can really get dry skin out there. Lip balm too.Baby wipes are nice to have. Feels great to clean up at the end of a day, especially if it is warm out. I bring two pairs of boots, and change them halfway through the day if I get back to camp. A small block and tackle is nice to have should you need to get a critter out of a blow down, or hang for skinning. Comealong will work too. LOTS of rope, and a good first aid kit. so haaad
Don't forget the vaccuum and an ironing board. Just kidding. My experiences is that most hunters making the elk hunting trip to Colorado overpack. Your gear shouldn't be that much different than deer hunting week here in MN.
