ice fishing idea

i was reading a response to the security thread and someone mentioned a neigbor hood watch! guys we have the perfect tool at are disposal right here, the forum! lets try to meet and greet everyone around are shacks this winter, watch out for each other, and if we do see something lets post it so everyone can be on the look out.

for instance a red chevy liscense plate # abc123 showed up when everyone had left last night i seen him kinda poking around looking in windows!

what do you guys think????

Would be nice if folks posted where they will be going for the weekend or where there house is at. I will gladly give a shout when & where I am going... Maybe make thread for each weekend or something. I dunno... Just kicking it around..

thats how all great ideas start "just kicking it around" i live in an apartment complex so i store my fish house about 80 miles away when the ice is good it goes on and stays on till the end of the season. i started thinking about this idea after fishing the st cloud area last year within two weekends of having my house out the guys next to mine got broke into. not my idea of a good time we all put alot of thought and time into are winter homes i hate to see anyones destroyed or vandalized if i would have met the guy next to me maybe i could have at least let him know rather than coming out for a nice day of fishing to see that.

There could be a thread posted for all the big lakes;

and so on. Then guys could post when they are going and what section of the lake.

Perhaps even window decals looking something like this;

This would all have to be with the consent of the forum owners of course.

i think thats a great idea why dont you check out some priceing for us fm'ers we should come up with a name? ice watchers or something what do you guys think. i know a few lakes ive fished on had a sign right at the acess i can honestly say i don't remember a break in on those lakes.

Ok I just got off the phone with a budy of mine thats in the sticker biz, he said it would be about $150.00 for 500 not bad at all what is that 30 cents for one sticker I think most of us can come up with that

I'm already all over it, I printed off the FM deal you posted I'm going to bring it to him to get an idea of cost I will yet you all know as soon as posible what the deal is on final pricing and how soon we can get them made, Good idea wolf!

e-mail sent with the current logos attached. We are expanding out of state and it might be nice for them to have a HotSpotOutdoors logo for their neighborhood Shanty Watch in ther Dakotas, Iowa, Wisconsin etc. Just a thought.
