i have an idea

So i was looking at another site and they have their bass forum in categories. like Senkos,carolina/texas rigs etc, and Equipment (rods reels).

What i am wondering is if this would make things more confusing or easier and if it would be even doable. i think it would help so that way when a senko question get brought up which seems like every other day the answer may be already there. Also it would be great for compiling all the knowledge into places much like a file cabinet. I am guessing that you guys that have been on here for a long time have seen the same questions 2000 times and this may as well eliminate it or make it more user friendly. Just wondering what all yall think. ike

the search function should do that for us, but I haven't had good luck when I've tried to use it

try going backward threw the posts to see whats' been discussed. I usually do that when I haven't been on here for a few weeks.

I like to be able to see all the posts as well. I think if we were to create more specific forums(senkos, crankbaits, topwater, etc.), we might pigeon hole ourselves in to focussing on areas we fish more frequently than others. Hence missing out on posting in the other specific forums.

What is nice with seeing all the posts is that, for me anyway, I learn so much more with different things being brought up. I may not be looking at that moment for a new idea and that is normally when I find new ideas laugh.gif

I agree with Dietz, this has got to be one of the best sites on the WWW!

I'm on your side guys. I like the site the way it is here. I love to be able to read the updated posts and be able to learn about all the different aspects of the sport. Great Site.... Keep up the good work. I have been in a hell of a drought the last couple weeks though. Today I accidentally snagged a 19 lb 7 oz CARP... It is a nice highlight but not one I was planning on. Snagged it in the back with a Fire tiger DT 10. I thought I was snagged on an anchor or something similar... THEN drag started screaming.... I'll finish the story later. Gotta get the kids from daycare... wink.gifgrin.gif

Ok, Ok, here's the pic sorry for the delay. What an experience that was. Fishing deeper weed edge with a DT 10 and all the sudden it won't move??? Then drag starts screaming to the side? Fight for about 10 min or so. I swear I was ticked off because I figured I was loosing one of my favorite lures because of a snag at first. Then I was worried what ever it was I wasn't getting it in with the set up I was using. (med light with 8 lb fireline). I seriously couldn't budge it. Eventually it gave in and came up so I could net it. Had to take pics myself with the fish on the floor of the boat. (Sorry for the poor quality). I put a 10 inch red shade power worm just below the fish and the DT 10 on it's side for referance. I snagged it at the base of it's dorsal fin. Wonder what went through that fishes little brain at the moment the DT sunk in... then pulled. lol. Oh, date is wrong on the pic because digital camera batts were dead so I had to change and didn't change date right away. Anyway, makes for a good story. Only two bass on that outing today and neither of which came from that deep weed line. As I was heading back to the landing I decided to hit a few more docks and pulled two bass from one dock (way under and back). Using a 4 inch charchuse senko. One bass was 17 and the other 14.5. smirk.gif100_1076.jpg

That is a very nice carp. Somtimes it doesn't matter what it is it is just nice to have something pulling on the end of the line.

So maybe you all didn't like my idea and that is ok. There is just so much great info here that it would be great if we could condense it into archives. You could write several books with all the material here. ike

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
