Wow, it is crazy that we can start Bow Hunting in exactly 1 month!!! Does anyone else have a bald spot on their head from rubbing their head against the trees...I am going into rut right now!!! Good luck to all this season- smile.gif

I was wondering why I felt a breeze. Yesterday morning the morning temps were in the low fortys up north. The smell of fall is in the air. Driving to work I don't know if I'm imagining it or not but the trees look to be changing colors. Betting it has to do with the dry weather we have had the last month and a half. This morning on the way to work there were puddles every where. Rained from mid-night till this morning. Ground is so dry the water is just puddling up. I have everything ready to go in the garage already. Just need to knock my arrow and see the buck I have been seeing all summer.

I was just in the BWCA this weekend and happened to see a few trees that appeared to be changing already. Sad that it's been that dry. Does get you in the fall spirit though!! Football and hunting, it's an unbeatable combo.

We are now down to 26 days and can't believe summer is gone and we are prepping for Hunt 06'. Several of the oak trees in my neighborhood are starting to drop their acorns.

Isn't this a little early for this to happen? Does that mean that the deer will be keying in on the acorns or will that be long gone time Sept. 16th comes around?!?

If I remember right, I don't think we had a real good Acorn drop last year but the year before was awesome!!! Hope we have a good acorn year as I hunt around a lot of oaks!!! WOW WE ARE GETTING CLOSE!!

Only 5 more sleeps for me. Elk and whitetail open the 28th Aug. It has been dry up here and I don't wish the farmers any bad luck but hope it doesn't rain for a couple of wks as I will be hunting a couple of watering holes deep in the bush. I was out there last weekend it looked promising but it did last year but the timbers showed up and run the elk out of the area.

I have never stuck an elk with the bow but lots of deer so hope to draw first blood this year on the elk.

I have been practising with the broadheads for a little over a month now and it feels good but I am sure the blood will get pumping if an elk shows up.

Good luck to all fellow archers this fall.
