Trolling motor vibration

MJBo

Question

I've been noticing what I feel is excessive vibration from my minn kota so I took the prop off and removed all the gunk stuck in there, But I noticed the pin which holds the prop on the shaft looked bent. Then I ran my motor with the prop off and the shaft looked wobbly. dump. WHat do I do about this.

Oops... I just re-read your post and figured half the stuff I just said is useless. I think it's time to take it to a shop that deals with trolling motors. They should be able to fix you up. Or try calling or contacting Minnkota. They might be able to give you instruction on how to fix it yourself. Either way, you will find out if it's worth fixing or better to just buy new.

Many of these problems can be fixed inexpensively. Call Minnkota and they will give you the nearest service center/dealer to you. Just had one fixed that had some serious problems and it was $40.
