"Muskyboy"

For many years I have been fishing with a good friend of mine for the elusive Musky. He and I have had many fun trips together. He is a "MUSKY NUT". All he thinks about is musky fishing. About two years ago his son started asking to go with. He was not your typical 6 year old. While he did not fish the whole time, he would never ask to go home.

This year he is 8 and went on a trip with his dad for 1 1/2 days. There was 3 people in my boat and his dad and him in his boat. We were having a great trip with multiple fish caught when I looked up to see Alex (the son) fighting a fish. We went over to watch and his dad was holding on to him. I proceeded to get into the boat to help out and net the fish.

I could tell Alex was getting tired but he would not give up. After a very tense moment around the trolling motor I was finally able to net it. I said "Nice job Musky boy", without batting an eye he turned to me and said " you too, net boy". Now whenever I see him I ask "How's Musky boy doing?" He always says "Good, how about you net boy" with a big smile on his face!
