berry crop in northern mn

Hi i will be bear hunting along the echo trail this Sept i heard the berry crop is pretty poor due to lack of moisture in the area any one heard of the food situation ? thanks

Blueberries and Raspberries were thicker than cat snot, 2 weeks ago up the gunflint. Size of the blueberries seemed to be only slightly affected by the dry summer. 3 of us picked 8 gallons 2 Saturdays ago. And there were plenty of berries left for the critters.

Bad berry crop years equal good bear attraction to bait piles.

was up in finland last weekend at my uncles campground and lodge. scoutin for moose. he pulled a tag. some areas were really thick and some where i have seen alot in the past there was slim to none. did see alot of moose sign got the blood pumpin. cant wait to go up there for moose opener even tho i am not on the tag.

I harvested a bull Moose in Finland 2 years ago- I passed on 2 smaller ones and shot the 5.5 year old bull Moose the last weekend- A LOT of fun-enjoy yourself!!! I was up in there this weekend and saw a Moose off of Hwy 1 near Murphy City- Again enjoy the Hunt-

Have done some ridding east of Bigfork and the berry crop looked thin.

Last weekend I was in Basset township close to fairbanks. The bear droppings had alot of berry seeds in them. Seems the berries are doing well up there. That being said a bear did get into two deer feeders the last couple months and destroyed them.

Anyone know how big a bear might be if the front and back foot tracks are bigger then my hand?

Big enough to eat you like a berry...
