1996 Crestliner 1750 Fish Hawk Tiller

I thought maybe someone had some experience with this boat. I am seriously considering purchasing one of these boats and wondering if anybody has an opinion. Also wondering what year Crestliner started the 20 year hull warranty. I read that the warranty is transferable up to 10 years and thinking I might be able to squeek this in under the cutoff. Thanks in advance.

I have the same year Crestliner in the 1650 Tiller and I absoulutely love it! They are very fishable and well built. I am going to stay a Crestliner guy because the layouts are some of the best in the boat industry.

Good fishing,

I have a 1997 1750 Fishhawk with a 2001 Yammy 4 stroke 80 hp Tiller and really enjoy the boat. It's very fishable and can handle some pretty big water. I do have a small issue with the boat porpoising. I believe there are two reasons for that. The gas tank is placed towards the back of the boat, where in the Pro Am I had before that had the tank under the whole main floor. Also, the added weight of the four stroke adds to the bouncing. I'm sure a jack plate or some fine tuning would help. I did put fins on and that helped somewhat.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Guys, Well I made the trip to Brainerd and purchased it Friday night. I got it out for a spin on Sunday at Bald Eagle. I think I am really going to like it. Tons of storage and wide open. Very wide, deep and stable. The kids sure liked the extra room except I think they did more running around than fishing. I have a 50 horse tiller so its by no means a speed demon but it planes up quickly and goes a little over 30 MPH which is fine for me. I didn't have any porpoising issues. I will need to get used to the tiller but I think once I do I will prefer it. I can't wait to get it down on the Croix.Only bad thing is now i have to sell off the Alumacraft to recoup some of my greenbacks. I hate selling stuff. Oh well it will be worth it, thanks again for your input guys. If you see a guy with a wild hat driving a fine "new to him" crestliner stop by and say hi.
