Harris Clash tonight

Recommended Posts

I just got back from a pretty good USMTS show over at Husets in South Dakota. Surprise surprise, Kelly Shryock won...

Is your son down at the Clash Tom? Good luck to him if he is.

Yes,he left this morning. He ran hot laps and broke a flywheel. They changed it in 100 weather and missed his heat by 15 minutes. He ran the b and started in the back and I think he finished 13th.Hard to run the b when you had no chance to check the car set-up.Thats just one of those nights.80 some modifieds and some very good ones at that.

I will bet you saw some great racing tonight and yes,no suprise with the winner. He seems to win alot of them.

Really good racing for 2nd on back Lee. Kelly is really in a class by himself right now. Even Myer can't hang with him much anymore. 2nd through 6th you could have thrown a blanket over all race, Shryock had about 2/3 a straightaway on them though...

Who are the big guns down at the clash? I'm sure Noble and Noteboom must be there since they didn't run with the USMTS last night, but who else?

Lawdog

Noteboom,Pat Graham,John Loque,Mcnenna,Jonny the Jet,J Mcbirnie,Reese Coffee,R.Stephans,Jake Durbin,Greg Metz,Kevin Stoa and a few more.Alot of the drivers that go to Boone supernationals.

Yes,Kelly is in his own world in a modified.Tough dude for any mod to beat. You better catch him on a bad night.

Sounds like a good line-up of cars. I'm thinking they'll be pretty close to 40 A-mods in Slayton tonight. 34 at Brandon last night and that's not even a modified track AND it was on a Thursday. I know they had 26 pre-registered to run this entire four straight day stretch for the USMTS and there are usually quite a few regulars and locals that show up at MCRA when they are around. Looking forward to another good show tonight, would only be better if I had something to DRIVE!!!!!

You dont want to run a modified in the USTMS class unless you have a very large amount of dollars to burn up.The motors alone are very spendy along with the accidents and they are sure to happen. Its more fun to race but cheaper to watch.

I am hoping tonight is a good night in Fairmont as two of the last three races we have broke. We havent had any problems like this for a long time and now the monkey is on our back.We need a good finish tonight and tommorrow.

I dont think I would know how to act if we didnt have something to race.We have been doing it for approx 15 years.Boy sometimes I wish I had all the money we spent in those years but the wife and kid love it.But I wouldnt want to give up all the memories and friends made while doing it.It is alot of fun.

Boy Lee, what a show the USMTS boys put on Friday. Holy smokes. Shryock won, but Tommy Myer had him passed at one point, just couldn't make it stick. Talked to Tommy afterwards and he was losing his brakes and just couldn't push the car anymore. He was pretty bummed out, because he said he thought he had him for sure if he could have pushed the car like usual... Quite the race though!!!

I was also at the USMTS show at Husets. I've been to three of their shows this year and many more in the past. Even with Shryock dominating it is fun to watch them like you guys have said! Myer is fun to watch and seems like the only one lately that can stay with Kelly. Looking forward to seeing them later on in the year and can't wait to go to Boone and watch this year, no "stress" of having to work on any car.
