Planning on buying this for my first rifle. How do you like it? Thinking about 7mm-08.

you can't go wrong with a Savage. You will like it. I have several and they hold thier own or out shoot my Sendero and my Weatherbys. The 7mm-08 is a good choice depending on where and how you hunt. I'm a 7mm Rem Mag guy, but I hunt in the wide open spaces. I don't track many deer either....

Sounds like a perfect hunting gun - does it have the Accu Trigger?

i got a savage model 12flv in the 204. i think the savages are great guns, and my brother is going to get the same one as you in the 7mm. i dont think your making a bad choice. good luck
