LMITOUT
Might as well start a thread on Daytona as it's typically a good one for conversation for the armchair chewchiefs.
JohnMickish
Jr has a very good car in the Busch race and I think Edwards got screwed. It was mostly his fault (we don't know if Mikey slowed down or not, but Edwards DID hit him), What do you guys who watched the Busch race think? Was the penalty just or are they just sending a message? LMITOUT
That was a butt whooping by the #8. End of story. I think NASCAR is sending a message and they did that at 'Dega too. I guess driving that Ford Fusion isn't curing Edwards' OAD. He needs to take a few sedatives before he climbs in a car as he's out of control at most tracks. Some would call it agressive I suppose..... Others who have been wrecked by him, or darn near, may say otherwise.
JohnMickish
This year I thought it was ok to just knock the guy infront of you out of the way if you are faster. According to Stewart they are just supposed to get out of your way and if they don't it's ok to spin em' out. I will agree, Jr. had the car all night long. LMITOUT
Free Track Pass this weekend. First time I've ever tried it and it's pretty darn neat. My computer room is just off of my TV room so I have the scanner on while watching the race. Kinda neat to listen to the conversations between the spotter, driver, and crew chief while watching it on TV at the same time.
lawdog
GEEZ I HATE THAT BIFFLE!!!! Not only did he take out Gordon, but I had both Bif and Yeley on my fantasy team and he wrecked them too. WHAT A PUTZ!!!!!
LMITOUT
Team Sideburns finishes 32nd and 40th. Can't beat a night like that.
harvey lee
Typical plate race. You never know what (Contact Us Please) is going to take a driver or two out.I'll take a road course over a plate track any day off the week. I believe Biffle the b--b,cost me approx 100pts.But,thats plate racing. You have a good day all day and then someone does something crazy and takes out a bunch.I cant wait until these plate tracks are done. How do you pick out who the retread is thats going to take out the drivers doing well?
JohnMickish
How can you blame that on Biffle? Looked like the car under him came up a whole lot more than Biffle came down. Anyways, that wreck was fixed to make sure that Gordon didn't tie Dale Sr.'s Daytona record. yet. Anyways, the 55 finished laps down again and DEI is no longer the king of plate racing, agian. In fact I'd have to say that DEI is now an "also ran" at plate racing. Boris Said, (who is a road racer and we all know road racers aren't "real" racers, right) led more laps than Jr. did, IN A FORD!. Don't take that to serious, I just had to rub that in LMT. Anyhow, Stewart really had a good car tonight and deserved the win. The 17 was pretty strong too and all the hendrick cars where strong as well. LMITOUT
Apparently you forgot about Friday night's race?? You must have also missed the results of the poll they had on Fox of who was the king of plate racing....hmmm. I'll give you one guess who outdistanced Superwoman in the results. harvey lee
I can blame Biffle for the accident right along with the announcers as they were saying after the race that he was to blame for it.Thats only what I heard on T.V.As far as DEI and plate tracks go,yes they have slipped. The real deal is with plate tracks is you need to be fast and then have alot of LUCK.Will it finish under caution or will the big one take you out. JohnMickish
I didn't watch the post race stuff so I didn't hear that, but it still looked like he was in the clear. Did they say why it was his fault? LMT, Jr. wins every poll they have on TV, and I was just stating my opinion.
harvey lee
They didnt say why, they just said the fault went towards him.
lawdog
They showed the accident numerous times and showed how Biffle got loose and checked up to try to correct it and 18 had no where to go when the car ahead/beside you gets sideways... They made a huge deal about how it was unclear for so long and then the one view showed it so clear.
JohnMickish
OK, thanks guys. I had Gordo for my pick and that wreck took care of that.
Cyberfish
Why did they throw a caution ***on the last lap*** when there was no wreck???? Never thought I would be disappointed by Gordon having bad fortune! Things change I guess, now I get double trouble, my driver I always cheer for Mark Martin, and my fantasy driver Gordo both get wrecked!
LMITOUT
A tire, or piece of a tire, came off and rolled across the track and into the grass near the inside fence. Could have been other debris on the track as well but all they showed was the tire cap rolling.

Sorry, just kidding!!!Biffle only had two (fresh) tires and was trying to drive the car like he had four tires. As usual, Stewart was my A list on the bench in favor of Gordon. My thinking was that Tony would probably do better but I would rather use Tony than Jeff at the end of the year. I was pretty much right until Biffy screwed up.
