I have a 92 Merc 75hp. the other day I heard the oil buzzer go off. I immediatley stopped and filled the resivor. After that I went across the lake and when I slowed down I could hear a squawking noise coming from the moitor (it sounded similair to a squeeking fan belt on a car). When the motor idled the sound would go away. But once the motor got higher RPM's the sound came back. I was told that this could be caused by the motor not getting oil. My motor hasall the power it should and runs fine. I did not drive it much after the noise started. So, I have a few questions.
1. Does this sound right?( not getting oil.)
2. How long would it take to "cook" my motor if it is true?
We're usually fully stocked but you caught me on a bad night!
Tuesday night is usually "board meeting" night if you know what I mean. Stop in and have a tasty beverage some Tuesday night after these holidays are over and things get back to normal.
