Down to Earth
Fished our local league event tonight, and wanted to branch out on my bass fishing by trying to fish plastics. Anyways I was working a Mister Twister Comida worm over a weedbed, when I noticed a bull bluegill trying to take it in, but to no availe. Anyways, after about 20-30 minutes and multiple bass I pulled this one into the boat. It was wrapped up in some weeds at first, but imagine my surprise when this was uncovered. It measured out at 10" and went on to swim another day. Dan Thiem also fished the event tonight and he managed a 10 1/8. Here's a pic of the two together. harvey lee
Looks to me like you found a new sunfish bait.
Dan Thiem
Some truth to that Tom..... Last night my youngest boy caught a nice gill on a Skitter-POP. He was twitching it and WHAM! The water boiled, he felt it tug and layed the smack down on what we both thought was a bass. Lo and behold it was a dandy gill. I've seen that before too. Last year I caught one on a #13 floating Rapala. Aggressive little sons-a-guns aint they?
Tyler Holm
It happens!. This one boiled at the bait as Dave was twitching it on top water. It looks like a snagged fish, but it was not. It ate the front hook!
Mr. Pike1
I have also found that the sunfish are clubbing the mepps spinners. I was tossing the white aguila with the silver blade and almost every cast was a sunfish or bass.
