Down to Earth

To those who helped my out on my plastics question a few days ago, I want to just say thanks. I went out to our local reservior this evening and nailed the bass on the Mister Twister Comida. Granted this body of water is basically known for fish in the 10-13" size range, but none the less they were fun to catch. Took me a bit to figure things out, like not setting the hook too soon, etc. I worked a the Comida wacky style rigged over a weedbed for a good 30 minutes with non stop action. Granted its nothing to brag about size wise, but here is a pic of my first bass fishing bass plastics.

One question, is there any way to make them last longer? Seems after 4-5 fish or so the worm would fall apart and I'd have to replace it. Eventually, I started changing the hook location, when I noticed it getting a weak spot.

Thanks Again.

Andy

size doesn't always matter. having fun is! yep that is one of the problems with the senko type baits is durability. some of the guys have gone to using a split ring around the bait and hooking thru that to get a little more life out of them when wacky rigging. but yes, you do go through baits kind of fast.

like del said, its just part of the beast to go through a lot of plastic.. actually 4-5 fish is doing pretty good. If you use the regular senko your lucky to get 2 fish.

The wacky rig is probably the hardest on the bait as well..but it catches fish so its hard to rig it other ways!

welcome to the wacky side of plastics. Now that you have gotten a taste you may never go back to the "other" side of cranks, spinner baits, scum frogs, or chatterbaits.

Oh sure they all have there place and will catch fish and allow you to cover water but the Senko or Senko imitatators smile.gif will not let you down

The difference between fishing and catching can be sumed up in one little word

Senko !!!!

You mention the lake you were fishing has smaller bass. For fun I recommend you get yourself some number 0 mepps Aguila spinners and put them on 4 lb test line.

You will have a blast cathing bass and sunnies on this presentation. The recent warm weather really turned the pannies on to spinners. This cold front may effect the bite this weekend
