Deitz Dittrich
You panfish dudes may dig this.. I took this footage with my aqua-vu DVR this last weekend.. I never realized that sunfish spawning in 10 feet of water... This is an off shore rock hump that tops out in 10 feet of water.http://www.mattjohnsonoutdoors.com/media/Deitz_Panfish.wmvThanks matt for hosting the vid. juggs
Pretty cool, man. Betcha didn't know other panfish spawn deeper, too. It's mostly about bottom content. Water temps will eventually rise to the desired level almost anywhere on the lake. By the way, could you tell the size of the fish?
Coach1310
That was neat to see. Ran into a similar situation a few years ago when water levels were low. We found big male sunfish proteting the beds on a rock/gravel transition area in about 14ft. The more you think you know, the more you find out you don't know that much!! Great video!Good Fishin'
Matt Johnson
Very cool video Deitz! Deep water sunfish on their beds is not always that common for a lot of lakes...
Dan Thiem
Thanks Deitz and Matt. That's something you don't see everyday. I've never seen so many pockets or beds before. Or are they called redds?

united jigsticker
Light penetration (directly affected by water clarity) is one of the bigger driving factors when it comes to depth of spawning fish.
