IndyEFI500
Here are my two pennies. If you are in a 55 mph zone but only doing 40 or less, get a SMV sign. If you are on a four lane highway that is posted 65 or 70 and you are only doing 40, be prepared to be blasted. The thing that drives me nuts is when driving my motorhome at 55 to 65 on Hwy 10 or I 94 and I come upon someone going less than a snails pace or even under the illegal minimum zone, I have to risk life and limb and everyone else's to get around the slow poke. What really chaps me is I get honked at and flipped the bird for being in the passing lane for being at or near the speed limit. Then the bozo I just passed blows by me only to go 5 miles and then slow to a creep and we play the game all over again. I did this last year on the way back from labor day on hwy 10 all the way from Staples to Elk River. Lucky for this guy my wife was with. I could have ran alongside him and chastised him till the cows came home. But I digress. The more idiots we breed in this area, the more idiots we have to put up with. My hope is the high cost of gas will keep more of the idiots at home.
cold one sd
I get about 13 empty on the highway and that is as good or better than some half ton pickups with V8s that I know of and worse than some. If I was going to be traveling more with the camper I might opt for a diesel. At this time I don't think it would be worth the extra expense. I wonder if anyone has ever tried a turbocharger on a V10. I know they work wonders on a V8.
BobT
I realize what you are probably intending but just for the record, I believe it is unlawful to display a SMV sign if you are exceeding 30mph. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please. Just happened to me yesterday that someone felt it necessary to pull out in front of me forcing me to stand on my brakes and then he didn't even go the speed limit. (there was nobody in sight behind me) Why the rush to get in front of me only to go slower than I anyway?Things that make you say, Hmmm.BobBob

cold one sd
Quote:thats really neat! so how well did it do with the overdrive and a tail wind? 8's not to bad and 6.5 not to bad with that big of a head wind. so did you put a larger gas tank on there for those longer road trips? i have the same truck and same motor and with only 27 gal at 6.5 to the gal your not getting to far. I gassed it up today and I averaged 8.4 on the way home.
