eyehead
I agree Napa, they need more restricter plate races
JohnMickish
Quote: I agree Napa, they need more restricter plate races Thats what they don't need. If they ran 36 races on plate tracks we would be down to about 3 teams at the end of the year, the rest would be all out of cars, money and drivers. Lowes speedway will be fantastic in a few years, we just have to get thru the sucky part now.
harvey lee
Mnfishingguy is correct. Plate racing is a demo derby at best. Give me a 1.5 mile track for some goooood racing. So many people like plate racing so they can see the big wreck. There are not many drivers that care for it either. eyehead
Im not saying all need to be plate races, but come on some of these 1.5 mile races are flat out boring. I'd rather go to the local track and watch modifieds than some of these races. You did'nt even have to watch the race to know who was going to win saturday night
eyepatrol
I never saw the race. Too busy grilling with family, and getting "grilled", so to speak.
LMITOUT
The race wasn't that spectacular IMO. The rain delays dragging out the entire event took some zip out of it too. Give me a mile or less track and I'd be happy. Those cookie cutter 1.5 mile tracks are for the birds....talk about follow the leader. It's just plain awful. Hopefully Vegas will get out of that funk when they change to progressive banking like Homestead did which made that track much better for racing. Get rid of one of the California events wouldn't hurt the schedule either. Give it back to Darlington where it belongs. We need the Southern 500 back again on Labor Day!! lawdog
Dirt is for racing, pavement is for getting there! Gotta have fenders though!!! (sorry Lee...)
harvey lee
Dog Fenders maybe protect your tires, but they are always bent up.
lawdog
Its dirt track racing, EVERYTHING is always bent up!The fender cars around here just put on a better show than the mods usually do, although the B-mods we added at Slayton this year run a little better on our track than the A-mods and having both classes helps. Too much disparity in the a-mods for consistently really good racing except when the big boys (USMTS) come to town. Last year no car in my class won more than two races, we were all that close competition wise, 3 mods on the other hand won about 85% of the races between them and no one else could do a thing...Lots of the guys that run the mod races before we had the b-mods were really b-mod cars trying to run the big show and that doesn't make for good close racing. The mods are awesome cars and they can put on a good show when there are good cars there. I just think its hard to get a full field of good cars to put on a good show. Personally I feel pretty comfortable with the whole car around me too!!
OUTDOORNUT
The Dog has the ITCH......and I don't think flee powder and a bath is going to fix it. Anyone want to place bets on how long before the Dog is behind the wheel and slingin' dirt again!
harvey lee
I say by next year the Dog with be hauling tail around the track.
