Heidi
I have an x-85 now and I am thinking about upgrading to a non GPS unit. Walleye fishing mainly. Any suggestions???
0 CodyDawg
I would give Thorne Bros a call and tell them exactly what you are trying to do and your price range and see what they have to say.
0 waskawood
I upgraded from an X-85 last year. You don't state what price limits you have. I wanted to give color a try so I went with the 102C and love it. In my old age it is much easier to identify bottom density with the color. 0 PerchJerker
x-102c is a great suggestion for what it sounds like you want.
0 Cliff Wagenbach
I also went from the Lowrance X-85 to the X-102-C. Love the easy to read color graph and the target seperation and color make it very easy to see fish or bottom content changes! A great Graph for the price! 0 walleyehawk
If your unit still works, be patient. I think the prices of the color units will come down real quick as production levels rise and costs of the components of the units declines. Look when the new model year is as it may not be too far off.
0 waskawood
As with any electronic gadget, there will be a better and cheaper model next year. If one is going to put off a purchase in hopes of something cheaper or better, you will never make a purchase. I am not trying to sound sarcastic, it is just a fact of life in the electronics market. 0 burl
I upgraded to a 334 this year and am fairly happy.I still use the x-85 in the back of the boat when using the kicker motor.I think the x-85 is still a very good unit for its age.I dont like the smaller screen for the gps on the 334 and the way the color shows the bottom contour on the map.Wish i would have been able to buy a larger unit.Burl.
