Question

all you mechs, I have a 2 ton truck with this engine, starts and idles great, get it on the road and as soon as its warmed up, its like someone turned off the key, if I leave it in gear and use the clutch while still rolling I can get it running again and moving till i get to 4th gear, then it starts all over again. very similar to forgeting to loosen the vent screw on your boats fuel tank... any ideas on a fix?

.There is a can type filter behind the cab and running board on the right side of the truck, some times there is a small filter that is on the carb, the fuel line is attached to it just before the carb, if this doesn;t do it change the fuel pump after checking fuel pressure, if you change the fuel pump the small push rod that operates the fuel pump will slide down, there is a plug on the block in line with the rod, when installing the fuel pump take this plug out and hold the rod up toward the camshaft and slide the fuel pump in.
