Grouse still drumming?

Hi All -

Can anyone up in grouse country report on whether the grouse are still drumming? I know it is a bit late, but I am considering heading up for a little scouting and am wondering if the birds are still drumming actively enough to make it worthwhile. Thanks for any reports!

They were last Thursday. Many drummers heard. Warm and dry May and June - please let it be.

Was at the cabin (Hill City) last weekend, heard several drumming around there.

was up around deer river this weekend. saw one and heard alot of drumming.

I haven't heard any the last two nights while I was out with the dogs. I think the peak drumming was about two weeks ago. I heard 10 or more every night I went out and it has gone done everyday since then. The grouse population seems really good though.

The drumming was heavy in the Gunflint area over Opener! Good sign for the fall boys!!

They are drumming. But the cold and rain is the real factor for a good hatch. we had good drumming last year and bad spring weather. Birds where tough for some. You had to be in the best cover. Also the pine marten are having an effect on the population around the say Silver Bay up the shore and Gunflint Trail area.

Well lets start getting them pine martin at 100 bucks a piece my family is willing to help you northern boys out thinning them martin numbers down.
