I assume that you were fishing with Rob. That means you were on the MN River.

There isn't a population of blues in that river.

Its possible....if some one released one, and you caught it, but it is highly unlikely that a blue has made it all the way from the Missy in southern Iowa and made its way all the way up to the Mankato area.

Count the rays next time to be sure.

Yeah its my buddy chris. I think he just ment it looked really blue. I will try to get the picture and post it tomorrow. Matter of fact we just got back from fishing tonight. Chris got a 5-6lb channel and I missed the only run I had all night on a bully. Still nice to be back on the river! grin.gif

I wish we had Blues! But then again, If you drive the same hours it takes to get to Winnipeg from Mpls but only going south or southeast, your in Blue country!

Actually, I've heard they frequent the Yankton area of the Mo River...anybody know about that? Details?? laugh.gif

Yes, the Missouri has blue cats. I grew up in the Sioux City area, and often caught blues in the 4-5 pound range from the wing dikes along the Nebraska side. If I had a boat back then, I might've found more. I'm told that Lewis and Clark lake is good for the three major species, but again, it helps to have a boat.
