'96 lund tiller to console

I have a '96 Lund 1660 Pro V w/a 60 hp tiller. I've had the boat for 4 1/2 years and love it. My question is this; The boat was also sold with a single console and rated for a 90 hp outboard. Is there still an available option, through Lund or aftermarket, to do this? Just curious!

The first place to check would be with Lund. If that doesn't pan out I know that one of our suppliers- either Bell or Lorenz & Jones, manufactures a generic stand-alone counsil for pontoons that could be integrated to work. Otherwise, if all else fails and you really want a counsil, give us a call and we can custom fab one for you. Good luck.

Converting the boat to a console boat from a tiller boat shouldn't be too bad... some work, but nothing hard.

I'm not sure though that just because you added the console you'll be able to hang a 90 hp motor on and still legally meet the requirements of the coast guard plate.. you'd probably have to get it re-certified by the coast guard...

Thanks to Marine Man for what I thought would be the "big" question. If a guy did this, how does a guy get it approved by the Coast Guard so it can be insured? I'm sure it's either not a big deal or it's more complicated a process than it's worth. Sure would be fun though!
