Thanks guy's. We all need to remember that we make this forum what it is. It goes back to the old saying" I never liked that Kurt Busch guy"........... I mean its only as good as the people make it.

There have been a few times when I have logged on and there is a high number of non-members so the better job we do the the better chance we have of getting those guy's to sign up and then we get to pick on the drivers that they like.

I need a new shirt because I just drooled all over myself. Seeing Jr in a black car fulfills half of my life's expectations. The other half would be if someone painted the left half of his eight black also. I've been praying for five years now, everyday, please lord put Jr in a black car so he can look like his daddy. I just ordered a staight jacket to help contain myself while watching the race. Not even the 5 shots of botox will wipe the smile of my face when I see Jr in a black car. Woooo!!!

I think Sifty's run a very good ship here in this forum. Sometimes it does get edgy with posts and when that happens, I just back off and keep quiet so as not to violate forum policy. It is fun though being able to rip on other people's drivers and such and I'm glad that is allowed to the degree it has been.

On another note, I'm one of those "newbie" fans to the sport as I've only been watching it closely for about 5 years or so now. So, yeah, I don't know jack about everything that's going on, and maybe I'm in that category of new fans that is ruining the sport, but nonetheless I'm still a fan and support the best active driver out there...GORDON!!! I know some of you guys like to rip on the new fans because you've watched for 500 years (sarcasm there), but let's not forget that the new fans like myself have helped the sport grow to what it is today. Plus, if there weren't any new fans...how popular would the sport be when the old die-hards died off? There wouldn't be any, right???? So yes, I don't know the whole history of the sport and I'm not mechanically knowledgeable like probably many new fans of the sport, but it doesn't mean new fans should be ripped on for enjoying the sport. We new fans are the ones who are keeping the sport going...and growing.

Back to the topic at hand though...as I've said before, the 8 car DOES look cool! I've always thought that black is the coolest color to have on a vehicle (although my truck is maroon).

Nascar needs the new people for the sport as you stated.It helps the sales,fills the stand and sells the hats and T-Shirts.

Everyone was a newbie at one time or another,so dont feel like the lone ranger.Some weeks when I make my fantasy picks I still feel and look like a newbie.

Been gone, but here is throwing some fuel on the fire... Anybody want to bet NASCAR DOESN'T Give the 8 a slightly bigger restrictor plate and ALL the calls Sunday to try to get that black car to victory lane???? Come on, THE FIX WILL BE ON!!!!!

I don't think painting the 8 car black is near as cool as if he ran the 3. I haven't seen the car yet, but besides being black, does it even look like the three?

This is all about hype and selling black merchandise!!!

I thought I was the only one thinking that bu eludign to Jr.s car being the only one able to pass on his own, and this is not the first black car Jr. has driven so I don't really understand all the hype over the "black 8".

On the newbie thing, yes, we where all newbies at one time so there isn't anything wrong with that. I just don't like how NASCAR and the media has basically forgoten the old timers. Anybody remember North Wilskboro? How about Darlington? I just seems to me that NASCAR sold it's soul to get where it is today and I'm afraid it will pay for it in the end. This sport was built on passion and history but now it's more about the maketing dollar than anything else. You have to wonder, if say Dale Sr., DW, Cale, Bobby and Donnie Allison and Junior Johnson (the original Jr.) where all still in the sport how they would sit with todays NASCAR officials, TV people and fans. I bet they would not sit favorably against JJ, Edwards, Jr., Kasey, Casey and so on.

Have fun watching the races this weekend. If someone doesn't realize why the DEI cars are black they must be deaf because they've already beat that horse during practice and Busch qualifying today on SPEED, and I don't expect much less for the races. I don't think the intro music had been potted out at the beginning of the cup practice show before they had a shot of the black #8. heh heh heh

Yeah Dog sometimes I wonder. I don't know for sure so I wont say guilty. but remember Daytona july 2001 he was faster than everyone even when alone passing at will. I have to admit it was a good show, even I was cheering for him! But afterwords there was alot of discussion on the forums about why his car was so much faster than everyone elses. even some drivers raised the question. Was the fix on? I don't think we will ever know for sure!

Oh, the paint scheme on Jrs car this week is exactly like the #3 except the number and bud instead of goodwrench.
