Mark Martin Autograph I cant wait!

Yes its true I'm getting a Mark Martin auto. The Vitran Driver that comes into Accurpress where I work visit alot about Nascar. I always have a Jeff Gordon hat on. And we visit about last weeks race. Anyway his wife is related to Mark or his wife somehow Cousins or marriage I cant remeber but 3 mths ago he said they were going to visit them and he was bringing a couple cars for him to Autograph. So I asked and sent with him the 1998 Sports Illustrated Nascar year in review/preview Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin are on the cover. The Viatran driver (I'm bad with Names) said he would have Martin personalize it. I cant wait.

I started watching NASCAR at the same time Mark came into the sport so he has always been one of my favorite drivers. Probably the classiest guy to ever walk the garage area.

I agree, I started watching just before he came on the circuit too and he has consistantly been a first class driver. I'm not really a Ford fan but if one is gonna win I always pull for Mark. It doesn't matter what his ride is, if you are a racer, he is the kind of guy you'd want to be in the field with.

Mark is a classy guy and a guy that I like to listen to when he is talking after the race. He seems to say the RIGHT things but does it in a way that we all understand what or who he is talking about.

Ever notice that Mark always gets another quiet top 10 finish?

Sure, every now and then he's in a wreck. For the most part his car finishes the race nice and clean and dent free. Hmmmmmmmmm, maybe some of the "Young Guns" should take a peek at how Mark is doing it.

Doing what, NOT WINNING RACES OR CHAMPIONSHIPS. I'm sure he's a nice guy and a good driver though. Don't get me wrong I don't dislike the guy, but I'm not going to annoint him as this great driver when in my opinion he doesn't race hard. Mark is like Randy Moss, he doesn't go 100% all the time and obviosly you can't in racing or you'll burn out your "stuff". But if other "athletes" were as lacadaisical sp? as Martin they would get blasted by the media and fans.

Kyle Petty doesn't "cause" wrecks either.

Good grief TNFL, the guy is one of the better racers of all time, a five time IROC champion and he's won 30 some Cup races. His only failure is in achieving a Cup. I don't think you can seriously criticize him for racing smart. He's like 3rd in the points by racing that way...

Lets not forget to mention he holds the record for the most Busch wins and not ever running a full season. He's won more races on more tracks than Jr. has. Finished top 10 in points in something like 16 out of the last 18 years. The only thing Martin is missing is the cup championship but he is still a champion, and 999 people out of a 1000 would say so.

I finally got it. That Mark Martin My frien said when he signed the cover he said I just had to mess up that pretty face. I'm a Gordon fan but thats ok. Now if I could just get Boy Wonder to Sign somehow.
